Back to school photos
The first day of any school year is one to remember. We keep track of our young lives through the school year, so that first day of school photos are ones you and your children will cherish forever.
Zia's First Day of Kindergarden
- Plan, plan,plan, so you know what shots you want.
- Get up extra early, so you have time for photos.
- Take them as you are eating breakfast, leaving in front of the house, at the car or on the walk to the bus stop, at the school or bus stop. Photograph your child and any friends you happen to meet along the way.
- Outside find shady places to take the photos, the front door step, just inside the car, under a tree.
- Don’t forget to photograph the details, like what you packed for lunch, any notes you might send in that lunch, their backpack, their shoes and of course their smile.
- And remember to fill the lens. Get just enough of the background so you know where the photo was taken.

HowI wish you were there, back in time, at Levi and Johanna’s first day at Kindegarden. Who ever thought of recording those very precious times .. and with a husband a photographer, yet! I think it’s so great that Zia will have these memories to look back on and that hopefully lots of parents will take your advice. Glad you’re able to enjoy more of her. Wish I could be with you.
